West Arsi, Ethiopia
This is a Grade 2 washed coffee from Ethiopia's West Arsi zone, from cherry collected at Refisa washing station, which receives harvests from a total of 588 smallholder farmers in the surrounding area, growing heirloom varieties at 1900 to 2100 masl. For washed process coffees, cherries are depulped immediately following harvesting before undergoing tank fermentation for 36-48 hours. After the mucilage has broken down, coffees are carefully washed with fresh water and dried on raised beds under parabolic shade nets for 5-7 days.
